The University of Burdwan is autonomous state university established by the West Bengal government on 15 June 1960. The university has been awarded five-star status by the NAAC (National Assessment and Accreditation Council). There are 139 affiliated colleges (including degree colleges, B.Ed. colleges and private professional institutes) and this university offers 30 graduate programs. Admission to Burdwan University is highly competitive, as it consistently ranks amongst the best colleges in India. For admissions to the Engineering stream at the undergraduate level, students are admitted through the WBJEE, an entrance examination open to students from all over India. Postgraduate students in engineering are admitted through GATE. Admission to the Arts and Science stream is by means of individual examinations for each of the departments at the undergraduate as well as the postgraduate levels. This university has a Directorate of Distance Education for conducting postgraduate studies in distance mode.

Burdwan University Exam Admit Card / Hall Ticket Download

Once the application procedure is successfully completed, the applied Students will get their admit cards which will be available one or two weeks before the commencement of admission test. The admit cards will be uploaded on the official website www.buruniv.ac.in only. Students can download their admit card by login using the application number. Admissions to the Undergraduate and Integrated courses are done on basis of marks acquired by a candidate in 12th (10+2) (Relevant Stream) or equivalent. Whereas admission to B.Tech program is done on basis of score obtained in WBJEE Entrance exam.

Admissions to Postgraduate courses are done on the basis of marks acquired by a candidate in their Bachelor’s Degree Examination (relevant stream) or equivalent. Whereas for admission to LLM courses, the candidate must appear for the required entrance exam organized by the University.

The University of Burdwan offers M.Phil. and Ph.D. research courses. Candidates applying for these courses must hold Master’s degree with at least 55% marks in aggregate from a recognized Institute/University. Those applying for Ph.D. must appear for Entrance Exam organized by the University.
