About Rabindra Bharti University (RBU)

Rabindra Bharati University was founded on May 8, 1962 under the Rabindra Bharati Act to mark the birth centenary of poet Rabindranath Tagore at his residential house at Calcutta for the advancement of learning and culture particularly in the branches of music, dance and drama. Assent of the President of India to the Rabindra Bharati Act passed by the Legislature of West Bengal, was first published in the Calcutta Gazette, Extraordinary, of the 10th January, 1962.

Rabindra Bharati University Admission 2019

The Rabindra Bharati University offers UG, PG, doctoral as well as distance education. All the programs are examined below:

RBU Undergraduate (UG) Admission

The university offers BA (Hons.), BFA, B.Li.Sc & B.Ed programs in various disciplines under the faculties of Arts, Fine Arts and Visual Arts. Admission is completely based on the marks in the qualifying examination. RBU releases the course-wise provisional merit lists for the shortlisted Students.

RBU Postgraduate (PG) Admission

M.A, MFA & M.Li.Sc courses are offered in various disciplines. Admission in MA (Human Rights) and Mass Communication is granted on the basis of performance in the Admission Test. For other courses, RBU releases the separate merit list as per the marks in Graduation degree.

RBU M.Phil & Ph.D. Admission

The Faculty of Arts, Fine Arts and Visual Arts also offers courses at the doctoral level. Admission is offered on the basis of Written Test followed by an interview. Students have to score minimum 40% marks in the written test and 45% marks in the interview.

RBU Distance MA & MSW Admission

RBUDDE imparts education through Open and Distance Learning System and serves as a platform of guidance for the Candidates who might have been deprived of education. The admission to MA (Geography) and MSW have only limited seats and admissions are offered on the basis of merit only. DDE also offers Diploma in Tagore Literature.

Online Exam Form of RBU

Rabindra Bharati University  Application Form 2019 will be available on the official website.The application form will be in online and offline mode.For online applications from the eligible students from 4/04/2019 to 28/04/2019 (up to 4:00 p.m.) for direct admission to the following PG Diploma Courses on ‘first–cum-first-served’ basis in the academic session 2019-2019. Students can keep the acknowledgment slip, photocopy of the application form and fee payment Challan for future reference.
